The O’Reilly Network recently published a feature on CrossOver, a plug-in for Linux that brings native QuickTime and Shockwave Director functionality to the platform. CodeWeavers, the company that developed the plug-in, told O’Reilly that Apple had been very helpful with the project, even modifying QuickTime’s license to allow them to develop the software. “Now, with QuickTime available for the Linux platform, [Linux users] finally have a high-quality, versatile, multimedia tool available to nearly everyone on the Internet.”
