An article in the Commercial Times of Taiwan notes that the country’s shipments of CD-RW drives are expected to come in at 10.6 million this year, with shipments expected to rise to 62 million drives in 2002. Lite-On Technology Corp., one of the country’s major CD-RW producers, says it will ship five million drives this year thanks in large part due to contracts with Apple and Gateway.
