HELIOS Software GmbH is now shipping its PDF Handshake 2.0 product. Now
available on its distribution CD016, HELIOS PDF Handshake 2.0 provides a
complete, high-performance prepress workflow solution for Adobe Portable
Document Format files – from layout to output – including
ColorSync/ICC-based
integrated color management and flexible production and output options
including breakthrough features such as “Create PDF Server” for UNIX and
“PDF Internet Printing.”

PDF HANDSHAKE 2.0
Using PDF Handshake, users of QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign can work with
PDF input as easily as they would with EPS or TIFF images, whether it be a
single drawing, logo, or a fully designed advertisement or page layout.
HELIOS PDF Handshake 2.0 provides printing and OPI support for PDF
documents that have already been separated enabling either composite or
separated input or output. In addition, HELIOS Print Preview supports a
composite soft proof of the separated or composite PDF documents.

CREATE PDF SERVER
For the first time, clients of every major UNIX-based servers will be able
to create PDF documents from any UNIX, Macintosh, or Windows client with
the simple click of the “print” button. The print command is distributed
via HELIOS EtherShare/PCShare network servers to a dedicated Macintosh
server running Adobe Acrobat 4 and HELIOS “Create PDF Server” for
hassle-free PDF creation in the networked prepress workflow.

PDF INTERNET PRINTING
PDF Handshake’s innovative Internet Printing feature supports the remote
delivery and printing of PDF documents over the Internet allowing simple
transfers and printing over the Internet using any Web browser. A simple
Web interface handles: user authorization, PDF job delivery, customizable
print parameters, PDF pre-flight, remote notification, plus
printing/archiving of PDF print jobs that can be used by any authorized
Internet user.
