Announces Configuration Changer Scripts (CC Scripts)

CC Scripts is a Scripting Addition/OSAX that enables changing the active
configuration for all four Open Transport control panels from an
AppleScript. CC Scripts works on both 68k and PowerMac architectures. CC
Scripts also accepts remote events, so the active configuration can be
retrieved and set on both local and remote Macs.

Notable is the ease of use of CC Scripts. All it takes is one line of
AppleScript (for example, set configuration of AppleTalk/TCPIP/OTPPP/Modem
to “name of configuration”), and you’ve changed the active configuration.
Additionally, with the “Get” feature of CC Scripts, returning the current
configuration name, or if the keyword “with listing all” is used, returning
all the user’s configurations, for that control panel is a snap. As it can
be used remotely, a system administrator can (with Program Linking enabled)
tell at a glance which configuration is active for remote Macs through an
AppleScript.

Since all the work is done internally to CC Scripts, the AppleEvents
defined by CC Scripts can be called from an application or code resource
programmatically, enabling a programmer to build in configuration
interaction to their product. If you are considering making installation of
a configuration part of your upcoming software, consider the added value of
relieving the end user from having to manually change to that configuration
before using your software.

CC Scripts is FiveBuckware ($5USD, $1 for each control panel and $1 for
making them scriptable) and a demo version, which has AppleTalk and TCP/IP
setting as well as remote events disabled, is available at
http://www.madison-web.com/tkelly. The “Get” feature is fully enabled for
the demo version, as well as setting for OT/PPP and OT/Modem. Online
registration should be at Kagi (http://order.kagi.com/?H9) later this week.
Site licenses and bundling agreements for programmers are available. Please
