The original Apple evangelist/author/entrepreneur and jack-of-all-trades, Guy Kawasaki, has co-authored a book that any aspiring author needs to pick up: “APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur: How to Publish a Book” (US$9.99).

The Kindle edition, written by Kawasaki and tech wizard Shawn Welch, is 300 pages of must-read info for anyone wanting to self-publish. The book’s thesis is powerful yet simple: filling the roles of Author, Publisher and Entrepreneur (APE — get it?) yields results that rival traditional publishing. Kawasaki and Welch call this “artisanal publishing” — that is, when writers who love their craft control the publishing process and produce high-quality books.

Welch is an author, speaker and IOS designer/developer. You can order “APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur: How to Publish a Book” at http://www.amazon.com/APE-Publisher-Entrepreneur-How-Publish-ebook/dp/B00AGFU5VS .
