Doxie One is new personal paper scanner

Apparent has unveiled the US$149 Doxie One (www.getdoxie.com), a personal paper scanner for homes, families, and small businesses. It will ship late this month.

It features iPad sync via the Lightning connector on the latest iOS devices or 30-pin SD accessories. The Doxie One comes with the Doxie app for Mac OS and Windows, Dropbox and Evernote cloud integration, ABBYY OCR technology, and PDF delivery via iMessage. Ships in late November.

The Doxie One is about the size of an empty paper towel roll, so you can tuck it in a drawer when you’re not scanning. Connect the power, insert an SD card (included), press Doxie’s button, and you’re ready to start scanning.

Accessories, sold separately, include a Lightning to SD Card Reader (which lets you import Doxie’s scans directly to an iPad or iPad mini), Doxie Color Skins (you can customize Doxie with seven swappable colors), the Doxie A4 carry case and eneloop rechargeable batteries for scanning when you’re away from wall power.
