Wacom Makes a Splash with new pen tablet

Wacom (http://www.wacom.com) has introduced the US$79 Bamboo Splash. Designed for the aspiring artist at home, school, work or play, its modern tablet design and its world-renowned pressure-sensitive pen are combined with a playful suite of value added software to deliver a fresh new way to draw, sketch and paint on the computer, according to Rick Peterson, director of Consumer Products for Wacom.

Bamboo’s pen is pressure-sensitive, battery-free and cordless. Whether navigating, painting a landscape or drawing a portrait, the pen’s natural-feeling pressure provides users a direct link to precise input control and a realistic pen-on-paper feel, according to Peterseon. Additionally, the pen works with creative software applications to produce instinctive pen and brush strokes.

Bamboo Splash comes with a software bundle that includes ArtRage Studio and Sketchbook Express. The tablet works with Mac and PC operating systems. Bamboo Splash is currently available at most consumer electronics retailers and online at Amazon and Wacom’s online store.
