Treehouse Labs grows BiKN for the iPhone

Treehouse Labs has announced the availability of the US$99.99 BiKN (pronounced “beacon”) for the iPhone. It combines a radio-enabled smart case for iPhone driven by the myBiKN app and clip-on tags.

BiKN technology allows users to not only find tagged items, but for tagged items to help find the user’s iPhone, whether the phone is dead or in sleep mode.  Additionally, if other friends or family members have a BiKN smart case, the group can create a network within which any of the users’ cases can find each other providing an answer to the question, “Have you seen my iPhone?”

The BiKN smart case can be configured to each user’s personal taste. People can choose either a black or bright-white gloss base case and pair it with one of six soft-touch, snap-on matte color highlights. The electronic-enabled base slides into the color piece accessing the iPhone 30-pin connector.  The micro-USB port allows users to charge and sync the iPhone while in the BiKN smart case.

BiKN tags are designed to be easily attached to anything that matters such as a key chain, backpack or child’s belt loop.  Users can configure up to eight tags with the myBiKN app creating a virtual network for their stuff. As with the BiKN smart case, the tags can be configured in either a black or white base color with one of six highlight colors. What’s more, each tag features a cap that unlocks, slides off and reveals a micro-USB port for a quick charge.
