Dolly Drive launches free seeding service for Time Machine online backup

Dolly Drive (http://www.dollydrive.com), online backup for Apple’s Time Machine, will now offer Mac users free seeding on 250GB and higher online storage plans.

The “Seed for Speed” program gives Dolly Drive subscribers with large initial backups the fastest means for getting their data securely in the cloud, according to Dolly Drive CEO Anthony Palermo. The company recently announced it will be including online storage and file syncing as part of its complete cloud storage offering.

The Free Seeding option is available for most subscription plans over 250GB. Users who select plans where free seeding is not included can add the service for US$50. Dolly Drive is a subscription software and online storage service designed for Apple’s Time Machine. In addition to providing Mac users offsite cloud storage directly through the Time Machine application, the application allows users to create a bootable clone of their Mac on an external hard drive for local disaster recovery. It works with Apple’s Lion and Snow Leopard platforms.
