Hudson Entertainment’s “gaming blast from the past” for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad — TurboGrafx-16 GameBox — has added more classic games to its collection: Bonk’s Revenge by Hudson Softt, Detana!! TwinBee by Konami; Double Dungeons by NCS/extreme, Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman by NCS/extreme, and Benkei Gaiden by SunSoft. These titles are available for purchase now within the game.
 
TurboGrafx-16 GameBox is a free app that can be downloaded via the Apple App Store and boasts a growing library of 21 games. Players who download TurboGrafx-16 GameBox will get the full version of “World Sports Competition” for free, while the free playable demo featured daily showcases one of the titles that can be purchased within the app.
 
Etienne Nguyen Tan Hon has announced Drawing Box 1.0 for the iPad. The US$0.99 app reproduces the children’s painting environment. Drawing Box provides a drawing tool for kids and non-professional painters, for parents and children. It features three pencil modes, six art brushes in six sizes, three paintrolls in six sizes, three eraser sizes, 156 colors in two palettes, 20 magic pen effects, 187 stickers in three sizes and more.

Pocket Watch has released ActiveCloud Pro 1.0 for iOS devices. With the $3.99 app, you can manage files in multiple cloud storage accounts, local file storage, and iTunes file sharing. You can also share your files with others through email attachments. With ActiveCloud you can open your documents in other apps on your iPad or iPhone that are capable of reading them.

Ken Tidwell has introduced D7000 DSLR 1.0 for iOS, another in his series of Min-U Guides to Nikon DSLRs. The $6.99 app provides access to information by allowing the user to “drill down” through a topic until they find exactly what they need; e.g., from the first page the user may select the topic Custom Setting Menu from among six others, then Timers from five other choices, and finally Self-Timer from four other listings, where step-by-step instructions are found.

Lightwood Consultancy has unveiled Face Rivals 1.0 for the iPhone and iPad that puts a quirky new slant on the quiz game genre. Players upload their photographs, then compete to earn the right to attack each others’ faces using a library of silly stick-on body parts and accessories. The comic-style stickers include funny noses, crazy hair, oversized glasses, silly hats and sound effect captions. Face Rivals 1.0 is free; new sticker packs can be purchased within the app from $0.99.

Power App has debuted QR-Reader 1.0 for iOS. It’s a $0.99 app that allows users to scan, read, and record standard bar codes and square QR codes. Users enter scan mode, focus on the code to be read using their iOS device camera, and press Scan. The photo is saved, and the alphanumeric translation is displayed. The app supports QR Codes, EAN/UPC Product Codes, Code 128, DataBar, Code 93, etc. Touching the Link button allows users to go to web pages whose URLs have been scanned.

ComboApp has created Coloring Mix 3D 1.0 for iOS devices. This $0.99 children’s digital artistic utility was created to offer users the variety of coloring characters from every one of ComboApp’s 3D Coloring Book for Kids apps. Pre-drawn 3D outlines from winter, fantasy girl, airplanes, and pet themes are available for coloring.

CrispApp has created Facebook Messenger, a voice chat application designed to extend Facebook’s communications functions for users on iPhone, iPod Touch or the web. It’s available for $2.99.

It includes tasks needed to be completed before setting sail, such as arranging a charter boat, securing transportation, provisioning, and ensuring that emergency contact information is current.

App.iz.io has updated Deal.iz.io, their deal finding mobile app for iOS devices, to version 1.1. The $1.99 app is designed to makes finding the best deals online easy and straightforward. Dealizio takes the top deal websites and transforms them into one searchable stream of deals. Once you find the perfect deal you can favorite it with one tap, or share it with another.

Chitralekha Productions has announced Voice Unlock App 1.1 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. It’s a $0.99 faux voice recognition program for unlocking an iDevice, that includes the recording and scanning of the sound waves of a user’s voice. When the app is used for the first time, a user records their voice. Voice Unlock App then scans the sound waves and records that voice as that of the authorized user and only person to gain access.

MarsApp has updated Doodle Control HD, their flight control strategy game for iPad, to version 1.2. With the $2.99 app players literally draw the flight path with their finger. Users guide their aircraft to the landing path, and avoid any collision with other planes. You can earn money for landing the plane, and can use the money to buy more planes. The game comes with 10 different aircraft including helicopters, jets, sea planes and UFOs.

KiwiObjects has released Cars iManager 1.3 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The $1.99 app allows anyone to store everything related to your vehicles, such as administrative information, insurance, fuel or care expenses, mileage of the next maintenance, technical inspections, as well as the information related to your favorite service providers. A carbon footprint can also be calculated, depending on the consumption of the vehicle, as well as the mass of carbon dioxide it produces.
