Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find ’em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Hog Bay Software has released PlainText, a free Dropbox text editor of the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It allows you to create and organize your documents in folders and (optionally) sync everything with Dropbox.com.

ClearPractice (http://clearpractice.com/ehr/home.cfm), a provider of software solutions for physicians and medical groups, has announced the general market release of Nimble, the company’s comprehensive electronic medical record application designed and developed specifically for the iPad. As part of the product release, the company is providing an iPad and a copy of Nimble free of charge to the first 500 physicians that subscribe to the Practice Edition of ClearPractice, the company’s integrated SaaS-based EMR and practice management solution.

MyNature has launched MyNature State Tree Quiz 1.0, their newest app for iOS devices. The US$1.99 app contains 50 multiple choice questions to test the user’s knowledge of each state tree. Once answered correctly, the user can view full color digital photographs of each tree, leaf, bark, fruit, profile and range map, as well as an illustrated drawing and full description of the tree itself.

Everything Techs has pitched out Home Run Derby Challenge 1.0, an accelerometer based game for iOS devices. In the $1.99 game, the player swings by flicking his wrist quickly, a movement measured by the iOS device. Pitches come at various speeds, and only well hit balls will go over the fence for a home run. The player’s speed and reflexes are tested as they attempt to swing as hard as possible at exactly the right time, adding points by hitting home runs.

“The Hunt – Episode 1: American Adventure” is a new $0.99 adventure game for the iPhone in which you solve riddles based on almost 50 real world places and events, then track down and visit those places on the interactive map.

ONYX Apps has introduced Oscilloscope 1.0, a $11.99 scilloscope and signal generator app. Designed to plot audio signals, monitor equipment, analyze events, and test circuits, it doubles as a learning tool. Input signals are acquired via the built-in microphone or an external device connected to the microphone input. Oscilloscope’s interface includes many standard oscilloscope controls, such as triggering, time and voltage per division, signal measurement cursors, and more.

Avenza Systems., producers of MAPublisher cartographic software for Adobe Illustrator and Geographic Imager spatial tools for Adobe Photoshop, has rolled out PDF Maps, a free geospatial PDF reader for Apple iOS devices including the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Avenza President Ted Florence says PDF Maps is the first application of its kind designed specifically for using geographically-aware PDF files on portable devices and opens the door to allowing any map to be GPS-aware. It will give users the power to interact with georeferenced PDF maps and images directly from their iOS device with viewing performance levels well above other mobile PDF viewing applications, he adds.

Moving Tales has published The Pedlar Lady of Gushing Cross, a $4.99, 3D animated storybook app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The Pedlar Lady is inspired by the age-old tale of a man who becomes rich through a dream. It describes the journey of a poor pedlar woman who, guided by the shifting line between the real and the unreal.

GreySox has served up Finger Stomp HD 1.0 for the iPad. It’s a $3.99 music app that pays respect to old-school hip-hop and street musicians, allowing users to produce the sound and feel of original urban music. You can choose from 22 objects such as basketballs, whistles, tires, cans, horns and more.

Callaway Arts & Entertainment is offering the Miss Spider’s Bedtime Story app for iPad. The $7.99 app is an interactive extension of David Kirk’s Miss Spider book series.
 
Kiboomu has announced Old MacDonald Piano 1.1 for the iPhone and iPod touch, the latest app from their Piano series. The $1.99 introduces children to playing piano and reading music in a fun way. Press the start button and sing along. Children can follow the lighted keys or match the colorful music notes to the piano keys. hear the song played on a banjo, xylophone, harp, flute, bells and much more.

LinkingCommunities.com has released ialertTHEM 1.2 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The $3.99 app syncs with the user’s contact list, letting you add up to 12 contacts to the app. Whether they’re in an emergency, running late for a meeting, or just need help finding a location, users can send an alert to their selected contacts with a tap of the screen.

Hurlybird Media has launched Putting Pal 1.2 for iPhone users. This $4.99 app uses augmented reality to help golfers improve their putting game. Like other green readers, Putting Pal 1.2 shows users the break direction and slope of the green, then it uses that information to go where other green readers can’t. With a few adjustments, golfers get real-time, visual feedback about their shot, including ball trajectory and required swing strength.

App Zap has updated All-in-1 Logic GameBox, their $0.99 collection of logic games for all puzzle lovers. Packed with six games, currently it features seven top-quality puzzle games with more than 1,000 levels of complexity with free future updates.
