ATTO Technology Expands Serial Attached SCSI Controller Line

ATTO Technology Announces the Expansion of its ExpressSAS Line of SAS Host
Adapters Featuring the Intel IOC340 Processor

Amherst, NY (August 9, 2007) — ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of
storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive
computing environments, announces the addition of the ExpressSAS H380 and
H308 SAS host adapters to its existing family of SAS adapters. The H380 and
H308 models use the PCI Express Intel IOC340 I/O Processor with integrated
high-performance Intel XScale technology to deliver blazing-fast
performance with transfer rates of up to 3 Gigabits per second per port
with the flexibility to connect to both SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and SATA
II (Serial ATA) devices.

Featuring a low-profile design, the ExpressSAS H380 and H308 adapters
combine x8 PCIe technology, SAS speeds and ATTO’s exclusive Advanced Data
Streaming (ADS) Technology to provide a cost-effective, direct-attached
solution for high-performance server environments and digital-video
applications. SAS, the next generation SCSI interface, delivers significant
improvements in scalability, performance, reliability, and flexibility over
parallel SCSI by leveraging a serial architecture for data transport. PCI
Express is a low-cost, highly scalable serial bus technology that delivers
added performance by increasing the I/O capacity while eliminating bus
contention. Advanced Data Streaming is a compilation of hardware and
software elements that manage latencies and control the acceleration of
data transfers for optimal performance in high-bandwidth environments.
Combined, these technologies provide the fastest and most efficient
performance with reduced I/O bottlenecks.

The ExpressSAS H380 offers connectivity through two external x4 MiniSAS
SFF8088 connectors, while the H308 model utilizes two internal x4 MiniSAS
SFF8087 connectors supporting up to 256 devices when connected through SAS
Expanders. Each of the eight ports on the ExpressSAS adapter is capable of
delivering up to 300 megabytes per second performance; enough to handle the
most demanding applications such as 2K and 4K film, multiple layers of
complex, uncompressed real-time effects, and high-definition video editing.

“ATTO has significant experience as a pioneer in the storage market and
today’s announcement of the ExpressSAS family extension with our SAS/SATA
low-profile host adapters with advanced management features demonstrates
our commitment as a trusted industry leader,” said Ed Tierney, director of
marketing at ATTO Technology. “As we did with our SCSI product lines, we
have taken the lead in delivering multi-vendor interoperability including
Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Taking advantage of the functionality in the
Intel IOC340 I/O Processor, ATTO ExpressSAS Host Adapters deliver
blazing-fast throughput — the ideal solution for transactional database
applications, email servers and large server farms.”

ATTO ExpressSAS host adaptors will be generally available this fall.
