Iomega announces UltraMax 640GB Desktop Hard Drive

Iomega Corporation today announced the new UltraMax 640GB Desktop Hard Drive, providing Mac users with secure, high-capacity storage in a rugged enclosure that complements the Apple Mac Pro and Power Mac series of computers. With RAID 0 and a built-in Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0) hub for future expansion, the new drive helps users “excel in digital content creation, graphic design, and other disk-intensive tasks.” Cables for FireWire 800, FireWire 400, and USB 2.0 operation are included with the drive, as well as EMC Retrospect Express backup software. The UltraMax 640GB Desktop Hard Drive is compatible with Mac OS X 10.1 or later, and is expected to be available later this month for US$449.95.
