TotalView Debugger from Etnus adds support for Mac OS X

Etnus today announced the release of a new version of TotalView featuring support for the Intel Core Duo processor-based product line from Apple — including MacBook, iMac, and Mac mini. “We are very excited about the availability of TotalView on both Power Mac and the new Intel dual-core processor-based Mac family,” said Ron Okamoto, Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations for Apple. “Now Mac programmers have a single tool to debug even the most hard-to-find source code and memory problems, quickly and reliably.” TotalView 7.3 supports the Apple build of the GCC compiler, as well as the Intel compiler suite. Other enhancements include integrated memory debugging for Power Mac OS X and Intel Mac OS X, a data viewer for dumping memory contents, and an MPI message queue graph that performs cycle detection.
