Canon rolls out new scanners

Canon today introduced a pair of Mac OS X compatible image scanners that will be available later this month. The CanoScan LiDE 35 (US$79.99) features a maximum optical resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and an enhanced resolution of 9600 dpi. The LiDE 35 also offers a USB 2.0 interface, Z-Lid Expansion Top, four one-touch buttons (copy, scan, PDF and e-mail) and the Multi-Scan Mode. The CanoScan 8400F ($149.99), which is designed for production level scanning, offers 3200 x 6400 dpi resolution. It also features a USB 2.0 interface, Z-Lid Expansion Top, four one-touch buttons, and a film adapter that handles 35mm to medium format sized film.
