EarthDesk 2.6 is the latest version of the popular dynamic desktop map application. EarthDesk replaces your static desktop picture with an animated, real-time rendered image of the Earth, which continuously updates in the background. The US$19.95 software supports eleven different map projections, political and satellite views, and renders accurate sun, moon and city lighting. Version 2.6 now supports random map views, making for a “much more varied and interesting desktop image.” Additionally, the Help system has been revised to provide better ease-of-use under Mac OS X 10.3. EarthDesk requires Mac OS 9.1 or later, or Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
