Jobs, Mayors open San Francisco Apple Store

Apple CEO Steve Jobs along with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and former city Mayor Willie Brown kicked off the grand opening of the San Francisco Apple Store today with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony. Our friends at Inside Mac Radio attended the event and captured a number of terrific photos. The crew told us that there were more than 2,000 Mac fans waiting in line when the doors opened. They also noted what was inside Apple’s “Lucky Bags,” which cost US$249 but contained over $600 worth of Apple products. The bags came stuffed with an AirPort Extreme Base Station, an Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, a D-Link USB Bluetooth Adapter, iLife ’04, Keynote, a one year .Mac membership, and a 10 percent off gift card. In addition, some lucky purchasers found an iPod mini or 40GB original iPod inside.
