RealNetworks takes aim at iTunes

Forbes reports that RealNetworks will adopt the iTunes-esque a la carte download model for its Rhapsody digital music service. “RealNetworks’ Chief Executive Rob Glaser clearly has Apple in his sights. While Rhapsody is still mostly a subscription site, where users pay a monthly fee ranging from US$4.95 to $9.95 a month plus 79 cents per song to burn songs to CD, Glaser says he expects it to try the so-called à la carte model, which is similar to Apple’s approach, very soon.”
