Macromedia posts Q4 profit

Macromedia, developer of Flash and Dreamweaver, today posted a net profit of US$6.9 million, or 11 cents per share, for its fourth-quarter ended March 31. In the year-ago quarter, the company lost $83.4 million, or $1.42 a share. Revenue rose nearly 10 percent to $83.6 million, up from $76.3 million last year. Macromedia said its sees fiscal 2004 revenues rising 10 percent to 20 percent from $336.9 million in fiscal 2003. For the current first-quarter ending June, Macromedia forecast revenue of $80 million to $85 million. Analysts on average are expecting revenue of $82 million.
