ShortMotion announces iMovie video contest

ShortMotion has announced the first of eight amateur video contests to be carried out over the course of 2003. The contests are open to “anyone with a little creativity and consumer grade editing software such as iMovie.” Amateur producers may submit their short video (5 minutes or less) into one of six categories: Most Adorable, Best Pets, Most Creative, Funniest, Scariest and Best Drama. Winners of each contest will be awarded US$500. All contest entries will be made available to the general public for viewing in the coming weeks. A panel of five independent judges will narrow down all entries to a group of finalists. General public voting will commence on the week of February 10 to select the winner. A $25 entry fee is required for each submission.
