Vulnerability in library could leave Mac OS X exposed

A flaw in one of Sun Microsystems’ XDR libraries, which is implemented across a variety of operating systems including Mac OS X, can leave computers vulnerable to attackers, according to a CERT bulletin. As reported by eWeek, the flaw affects Windows 2002, Mac OS X, Solars 2.5.1-9, and all versions of Red Hat Linux. Many vendors have already issued patches for the flaw, although Microsoft is still assessing its vulnerability. Apple’s Mac OS X Security Update released on Friday addresses the issue.
