File sharing companies squeezed for money

Peer-to-peer file swapping companies Kazaa BV and StreamCast Networks are feeling the pinch defending themselves in court against the major record labels as expenses pile up, according to c|net. Kazaa BV has already conceded defeat in court, while StreamCast this week lost its high profile lawyer who successfully defended Diamond Multimedia three years ago against the labels over its Rio MP3 player. While neither service is compatible with Macs, the outcomes of the cases could dictate the future of file sharing technology as a whole.
