Group Logic Releases ExtremeZ-IP Version 2.1

Best-Selling Windows-to-Macintosh File and Print Sharing Product Boosts
Administrative Functions and Performance

Arlington, VA – April 30, 2002 – Group Logic, developer of best-selling
Macintosh-to-Windows interoperability software, announced today the
immediate availability of version 2.1 of the company’s ExtremeZ-IP file and
print server product. ExtremeZ-IP uses the TCP/IP protocol to increase
throughput as much as six fold between Macintosh clients and Microsoft
Windows servers.

With version 2.1 of ExtremeZ-IP, administrators gain additional control and
ease-of-use through enhancements to the ExtremeZ-IP Administrator
application. System status information is now immediately available from
the application’s primary interface, and administrators gain detailed
information and control over users, files, volumes, print queues and
individual print jobs under management by clicking a few buttons. The
product also offers performance gains from directory index optimizations,
improved support for the Service Location Protocol, better support for LPR
printers, and an enhanced Windows Explorer plug-in for managing Macintosh
file permissions. Version 2.1 of ExtremeZ-IP is a free upgrade to existing
customers with maintenance agreements.

“Implementation was a breeze! No complicated configuration was required and
we immediately noticed improved speed when accessing the server from our
Macs,” observed Chad Chelius, systems administrator at Offset Impressions,
Inc. and an early user of the software. “ExtremeZ-IP is definitely the
single greatest improvement to our network for the price,” adds Chelius.

“In the v2.1 release, we’ve packed in nearly a dozen improvements requested
by our customers in 2001,” said T. Reid Lewis, President of Group Logic.
“As I see it, it’s our job to listen and respond and we’ve done that.
Systems administrators will find that v2.1 makes their job much easier and
gives them more control than ever,” he said.

ExtremeZ-IP enhances native support for Macintosh communications on Windows
NT Server and Workstation, as well as Windows 2000 Server and Professional.
ExtremeZ-IP works also with Windows XP Home Edition and Professional. Users
experience dramatic return on investment through increased productivity,
resulting from superior network performance and centralized management of
the shared resources.
