Fourth World Releases WebMerge 1.9

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fourth World Releases WebMerge 1.9

LOS ANGELES, California – 26 November, 2001
Fourth World today released WebMerge 1.9, a tool for Mac OS and Windows
that generates static Web pages from database files. The new version offers
the option of selectively generating either detail or index pages, faster
performance, and more thorough feedback for user errors in templates.

WebMerge 1.9 can work with any database that exports in Merge or
tab-delimited format, including FileMaker Pro and Microsoft Access. The
user creates a template HTML page with simple place holder tags, and
WebMerge creates a new HTML page from the data in each record of the
exported Merge file. WebMerge can also create an index page with links to
each of the generated pages. Generated pages can be hosted on any Web
server without the need for a specialized database hosting solution.

“When it comes to automated Web publishing, our customers are some the best
software designers around. Their suggestions have shown us how to make
WebMerge ever more useful,” said Richard Gaskin, president of Fourth World.
“This upgrade answers their request to generate just index pages alone,
without detail pages, and the revised code base provides better feedback
for the WebMerge tags in their templates.”

System Requirements
Mac OS: System 8.0 or later, 32 MB total memory, 5 MB disk space, both 68k
and PPC are supported.
Windows: Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME, 32 MB total memory, 5 MB disk space.

Pricing and Availability
Fourth World WebMerge 1.9 is available immediately at the publisher’s Web
site: (http://www.fourthworld.com/products/webmerge/). A free trial version
