EarthLink loss narrows

EarthLink this morning reported a third-quarter loss of US$22.7 million (17 cents a share), excluding one-time costs, as revenues grew 28 percent to $319 from the year-ago quarter. The Apple-endorsed ISP saw its dial-up subscribers fall 4 percent to 4.2 million, while its broadband customer base grew by 50,000 during the quarter to 406,000. EarthLink sees its fourth quarter revenue coming in between $330 million and $335 million with a loss before one-time items of 8 cents to 11 cents per share.
