Mini CD-Rs catch eye but cost more

Verbatim today began shipping its new Pocket CD-Rs, which measure just three-inches across and can store up to 185MB. The Pocket CD-Rs function like regular CD-Rs, are certified for 16x burning, and come in five different colors with matching slim cases. They are available in 5- and 10-packs for US$14.99 and $24.99, making them significantly more than ordinary CD-Rs — the price you pay for “cool.” [Updated (13:23): MacMinute reader Gabe Sterritt offers a friendly reminder that non-standard CD-R media, such as the Pocket CD-R, will damage slot-loading drives if inserted.]
