MacTech CD-ROM, Volumes 1-16

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MACTECH CD-ROM RELEASED AT MACWORLD EXPO

January 8, 2001 — Westlake Village, CA, USA — MacTech Magazine announces
a new release of their best selling MacTech CD-ROM! The MacTech CD-ROM
includes the entire history of MacTech Magazine, over 2000 articles from
almost 180 issues of MacTech, running from 1984 through May of 2000.
MacTech is the journal of Macintosh technology and development … making
it a must-have reference tool.

Debuting at Macworld Expo in San Francisco, CA., the new release of the
MacTech CD-ROM provides the most complete reference collection available
for Macintosh programmers and developers. The CD-ROM will be sold at
MACWORLD Expo, Jan 9th-12th, in the MacTech Central Pavilion (booth #3240)
and is available on the web from DevDepot (http://www.devdepot.com/).

The newly updated CD includes articles on Carbon, Mac OS X, QuickTime
development, and so much more! This wealth of programming tutorials,
introductions to new technologies, and how-to articles are compiled into
databases for the THINK Reference system.

The THINK Reference Viewer (included on the CD-ROM) is explicitly supported
by all major Macintosh development environments — including CodeWarrior,
Object Master, BBEdit, and Symantec C++. Simply select text in these
environments and use a command key combination to bring THINK Reference
forward and search for that API or keyword.

“THINK Reference is an essential tool for Mac OS developers. It’s fast,
clean, easy to use, and simply the best way I can think of to quickly store
and access reference information,” said Neil Ticktin, Publisher of MacTech
Magazine.

The THINK Reference Viewer also supports complex boolean searches and has
an advanced high speed search engine that allows you to quickly, and
precisely find the information you need.

Also included on the CD-ROM is the THINK Reference Compiler with support
for AppleEvents and larger make files. Simply drop a TR make file on the
compiler to compile large directories of HTML documents into a single,
compact THINK Reference database that can be easily search and stored in a
fraction of the space of the HTML source.

Included are the complete run of Apple’s develop magazine, the FrameWorks
journal, and Apple’s original inside Macintosh technical reference — all
in THINK Reference format.

Source code for these articles fills the disk, making the MacTech CD one of
the most extensive collections of Macintosh example code available. Also
featured, are special offers and demos on some of the best Macintosh
developer products.
