Wozniak defends student in Tiger leak lawsuit

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, has commented on Apple’s lawsuit against one student for illegally distributing beta versions of Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger on a file-sharing Web site. “Everything fits into place that this is an unintentional oversight and the interviewed student appears to be one of the most honest people on this planet,” Wozniak said. “I have to question who is most right in this case. I wish that Apple could find some way to drop the matter.

Woz joins Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and 10 others were inducted into the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame last week. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) honored the new inductees at an awards dinner held Tuesday, Oct. 19, during CEA’s annual Industry Forum held in San Francisco, CA. “As one of the honored, I was in incredible company of people changing lives in positive ways,” said Wozniak.

Woz to keynote at hacker conference

Steve Wozniak — co-founder of Apple and CEO of Wheels of Zeus — will be a keynote speaker at the Fifth HOPE that will be held July 9-11 at the Hotel Pennsylvania in Manhattan. The Fifth HOPE — a conference “by, for, and about hackers” –will run around the clock starting Friday morning and ending Sunday night. Woz to receive honorary doctorate of sciences degree

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will receive an honorary doctorate of sciences degree from North Carolina State University. The degree will be conferred by Chancellor Marye Anne Fox on May 15, 2004 at the Spring Commencement ceremonies. Wozniak visited NC State’s students, faculty, and staff in 2003, and toured research centers within the College of Engineering to witness the innovative work of the students and faculty firsthand.

Woz to speak in Rochester, New York next week

Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder and current CEO of Wheels of Zeus (an emerging wireless company), is scheduled to speak about his accomplishments and immediate plans on Wednesday, September 10 at the Monroe Community College Auditorium in Rochester, New York. The event is open to the public and will start at at 7:00 p.m. Wozniak will be in Rochester to help Apple CIDER (Apple Computer Information and Data Exchange of Rochester) celebrate its 25th year of assisting Apple and Macintosh users in western New York.

Steve Wozniak to speak at North Carolina State University

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will be speaking at North Carolina State University on Saturday, April 26, 2003. The event is being hosted by PackMUG, the North Carolina State University Macintosh Users Group, and will be held at 2:00 PM ET at the Jane S. McKimmon Center. Admission to the address is free for all attendees, with tickets being sponsored by Apple. However, the event is currently filled to capacity — over 600 students, faculty and staff representing eight universities in North Carolina have already registered to attend Wozniak’s speech.
