As MacMinute reported last month, Willow Design, maker of carrying cases for Mac hardware, is shutting its doors. Originally, the last day of business was supposed to be Feb. 29; however, it’s been pushed back to sometime next month.

Willow Design has announced a new Power Mac G5 carry case. The US$253 case protects the G5 with multiple layers of foam, corrugated plastic and a hardboard bottom. It features a thickly padded computer compartment to protect the tower and a separate upper level compartment for the keyboard, cables and other accessories. The case also sports padded handles, reinforced end handles for easier lifting or two person carrying and a thickly padded contoured shoulder strap. Read More

Willow Design today announced a line of handbags for the 12″ Powerbook and iBook. The four different handbags, which are available in black, charcoal, navy, burgundy and taupe, feature removable 12″ Powerbook or iBook sleeves, along with pockets for paperwork, personal items, accessories, two key chains plus a business organizer panel. Both handbags are priced at US$165.

Willow Design has added the Apple 20-inch Cinema Display carry case to its line of 28 other cases specifically designed for Apple computers. The US$185 case offers excellent protection through multiple foam layers with corrugated plastic reinforcement, a hardboard bottom and a double plastic reinforcement layer for the display side outer wall. Willow Design has announced four new slipcases specifically designed for Apple’s new 12″ Powerbook. “They range from the minimalist Ashcroft to the expandable Courtenay and McLeese slipcases. Whatever the style, all the slipcases fit the Powerbook like a glove, minimizing the size but maximizing the protection.”

Willow Design today announced three new dust covers for the 17″ iMac, eMac, and G3 iMac. Each dust cover is custom fitted to cover the desktop, keyboard, mouse and extra speakers. The covers also feature special mesh openings at the rear to vent excess heat from the computer in case it has been left on in sleep mode or turned on accidentally.
