Stupendous Software today announced the release of a set of six free tutorials for iMovie, Apple’s consumer video editing software. These new tutorials show how Stupendous Software’s plug-ins can be used, alone or in concert with each other, to create interesting effects in iMovie. The six tutorials include Textured Backdrops, Basic Compositing: Masks, Grainy Black & White Look, Intermediate Compositing: Glow Outline, Intermediate Compositing: Blue & Green Screen, and Silent Film Look. All are available for download now.

Stupendous Software today announced the release of its “Glows & Blurs” effects plugin pack version 1.3 for iMovie. The plugin pack contains 32 effects for iMovie, five of which are fully functional in the free demo version. Included are numerous kinds of blur effects, from simple defocus to extreme defocus to horizontal and vertical blurs, and even blurs of individual color components.

Stupendous Software has announced the release of two new sixpacks of plug-ins for Apple’s iMovie. Each sixpack contains six of the company’s effect plug-in packs, priced at US$100 (a $50 discount). The “Sixpack Alpha” (147 effects) contains the following plug-in packs: Glows & Blurs, Labels & Overlays, Scratch & Dirt, Smoke & Glass, Time Effects, Time Effects 2. Stupendous Software has released new versions of two plug-in packs for Apple’s iMovie video editing software. The “SplitScreen & PiP” plug-in pack has been updated with a new effect called “Side By Side,” which places images from two clips next to each other, shrinking them so that the entire frame is on screen. Stupendous Software today announced the release of its “Masks & Compositing” plugin pack for iMovie, which contains 24 effects, including blue screen, green screen, blending, and compositing effects. Various mask extraction effects allow users to “pull” masks from video clips and use them for compositing of clips over each other.

Stupendous Software today announced the release of the “Ascii & Art” iMovie plug-in pack, containing a total of 16 effects, 3 of which are available for free in the demo version. This iMovie plug-in package contains effects for applying a number of artistic and abstract effects to movie clips. These effects include several variations inspired by the ASCII (text character) posters of the 70’s. Stupendous Software today announced an upgrade to its complete line of iMovie plug-ins, containing 254 effects, to work better with iMovie 3. Stupendous Software today released updates to two iMovie plugins: “Levels & Balances” and “Smoke & Glass.” This brings the total number of iMovie effects available from the company to 205, including 34 free effects. Existing Stupendous Software customers can download these effects free of charge from the site.

This release brings the total number of iMovie effects available from Stupendous Software to 186, including 32 free effects. The new plug-in packs include Scratch & Dirt (23 effects, 4 free) and SplitScreen & PiP (22 effects, 4 free). The iMovie effects are priced at US$25 per plug-in pack, and require iMovie 2.1.1.
