Smash-and-grab at Pittsburgh Apple Store

Thieves swiped about US$9,000 worth of Apple laptops at the company’s retail store in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood, police said. “Surveillance video from Dec. 12 shows someone smashing through the glass front door at the store in the 5500 block of Walnut Street. A man is seen rushing to the back of the building while a woman grabs three laptops from a shelf. Both people then run outside. The entire episode takes just 19 seconds.” Read More

Pittsburgh Apple Store report, photos

MacMinute reader Scott Kleinberg provided us with a great report from the opening of Apple’s new retail store in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh, PA. “There were at least 300 people in line when the store opened at 10 a.m. The line was a city block and then some around the next corner. Apple employees dressed in blue shirts walked the line a few times and asked for clapping and some ‘noise’ and plenty of people were more than willing to oblige.
