Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Just Banned in Europe

Apple has Just obtained an injunction banning sales and marketing of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Europe. Apple has sued Samsung and other Android handset makers for patent infringement around the world. Australia banned the Galaxy Tab last week and now Europe, except the Netherlands has also banned the sale and marketing of the Samsung device just a couple of weeks from its launch.

The Apple lawsuit against Samsung has taken an interesting turn, suggesting Samsung is ready to settle with Apple, behind the scenes. Samsung has just withdrawn its main counter-suit against Apple.

Apple sued Samsung for stealing the look and feel of both the iPhone and iPad devices and operating user interface. Indeed the pictures of Apple iPhones along side Samsungs recent Android entrys are so similar it is hard to tell them apart. There are numerous patents Apple cited including design elements that Samsung copied “lavishly”.

Samsung Electronics today announced its fastest dual layered DVD recorder. The new SH-W162L model is a unique LightScribe, enabling a 16x DVD re-writeable drive with 8x dual speed recording. LightScribe technology is embedded in the DVD drive and allows users to easily engrave labels, photos, and designs right onto the CD and DVD discs. The drive’s label making software is pre-loaded with a wide range of designs and labels for users who choose not to create their own label.

Samsung introduces new V50 digital camera

Samsung Cameras today introduced it new “flagship” digital camera — the Samsung Digimax V50. The 5.1 megapixel camera features a 270-degree large 2″ LCD screen, a Schneider Kreuznach lens, 3x optical and 5x digital zoom, and more. The camera, will retail for £329, and early purchasers can apply for a free 256MB SD memory card (applies to models bought up to August 31 2004). Also available are Samsung conversion lenses, giving users the option to choose from wide angle and super-telephoto lenses.

Samsung unveils 24-inch LCD monitor

Samsung has introduced the SyncMaster 243T, a new 24-inch LCD monitor targeted at high-end graphics professionals. The Mac-compatible display features a 1920 x 1200 maximum resolution, analog and Digital Video Interface (DVI) inputs, an ultra-narrow bezel (0.73″ wide), and a built-in swivel base design allowing it to be rotated 90-degrees. It also offers an extra-wide 170-degree viewing angle, a high brightness rate of 300cd/m, a 500:1 contrast ratio, and a response time of less than 25 milliseconds.
