Intuit today announced the upcoming release of a new version of its QuickBooks software for Mac OS X, one of the first major business applications to be developed to work efficiently on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs, notes the company. “Over the past several years we have continued to evolve QuickBooks Pro for Mac with a series of Mac-centric features,” said Rick Jensen, vice president of Intuit’s Home and My Business Unit.

Intuit has announced QuickBooks Pro 2005 for Mac, a new version of its flagship small business application. The latest version brings more customizable forms; the ability to share QuickBooks data; iCal and .Mac integration; the ability to hide inactive list items and sort lists on any column; new reports for cash flow and unbilled hours; and the option to “QuickZoom” to individual bills and invoices from Pay Bill and Receive Payment windows.

Intuit today announced QuickBooks Pro 6.0 for Mac, which they say “incorporates customer-driven enhancements designed to address the unique needs and work style of the Mac small business owner.

Apple has updated its Apple Store Hot Deals and Apple Store for Business Hot Deals pages with a new offer for users of QuickBooks from Intuit. Current owners of the software will receive a US$120 rebate, directly from Intuit, when they upgrade to the new QuickBooks 5.0 for the Mac. The offer is valid through December 31, 2002.
