Proteron has announced an update to two of its popular software products for Mac OS X, namely, the utility and launching application called MaxMenus, and keyboard application switcher, LiteSwitch X. The new version 2.6 addresses several compatibility issues with Mac OS X 10.4. Of significant note, this release brings Proteron’s primary products into line with the Apple strategy to build software that straddles multiple chip architectures.

Proteron today announced the availability of MaxMenus 1.4 and LiteSwitch X 2.5 — incremental upgrades of their popular utilities to provide support for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. The updates, which are free for current owners of the software, can be downloaded from the Proteron Web site. Free, unlimited 30-day trial versions of both MaxMenus and LiteSwitch X are also available.

LiteSwitch X 2.0 adds feature to exclude applications

Proteron today announced the release of LiteSwitch X 2.0, a major update to its popular application switcher for Mac OS X. Version 2.0 allows you to exclude applications from the switcher so that programs not directly involved with user interaction do not slow down active switching. The free update also offers more advanced options including allowing the Tilde key to move the switcher in reverse, and an option not to gray out icons of hidden applications.
