Adobe this weekend inadvertently revealed that the new version of Photoshop CS would be announced next week along with Creative Suite 2. Photoshop CS2 “brings a new level of power, precision and control to the digital photography experience and to the overall creative process,” Adobe said in a press release dated April 4, 2005 that was briefly posted on its website.

2004 Photoshop Hall of Fame inductees chosen

The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) has announced that Julieanne Kost, Bert Monroy and Ben Willmore will be inducted into the 2004 Photoshop Hall of Fame. Each inductee is being recognized for their “enduring contributions to the business, education, development and art of Adobe Photoshop.” The official induction ceremony takes place at the 2004 PhotoshopWorld Conference & Expo, being held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, starting Sept. 1 through Sept. 3.

Analyst expects Photoshop 8 by end of year

CNET News.com reports that Gene Munster of investment bank USB Piper Jaffrey upgraded his rating on Adobe from “outperform” to “strong buy,” based on expectations that Adobe will deliver a new version of Photoshop within the next four months. “Over the last several days, we have spoken with six Photoshop certified trainers regarding timing of the Photoshop 8.0…release,” Munster wrote. “All six of the trainers we have spoken with expect shipment between November and December.

Digital imaging veterans Mark Hamburg, Jack Davis and Stephen Johnson have been named as the 2003 inductees into the Photoshop Hall of Fame, recognized for their achievements in Photoshop Business Development, Education and Art, respectively. Photoshop performance plug-in for G5 announced

Adobe today announced new add-on software designed to maximize the performance of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 on Apple’s new Power Mac G5. The new plug-in technology and software enhancement can make Photoshop run twice as fast, when compared to the application running on any previous Mac, according to Adobe. The Photoshop enhancements will be made available as free downloads from Adobe’s Web site, when Apple ships its Power Mac G5.
