Pepsi Canada to give away an iPod an hour until Christmas

Pepsi Canada has launched a new promotion in which it will be giving away one 20GB iPod an hour of every day until Christmas–a total of 2,016 iPods. The promo started on Oct. 3, 2004 at 12:00:01 a.m. and ends Dec. 25, 2004 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET. It is only open to residents of Canada. PIN codes will be available under the labels of specially marked Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, 7UP, Mountain Dew, Mug root beer, and Lipton Brisk iced tea. After acquiring a code, there are two ways to enter: text message by mobile phone or online.

Pepsi-iTunes promo produces weak redemption numbers

An Apple representative said Wednesday that only about 5 million free songs have been given away through the Pepsi-iTunes promotion — a lot less than the 100 million songs that could have been redeemed. “We had hoped the redemptions would have been higher,” Katie Cotton, Apple’s vice president of worldwide corporate communications, told CNET News.com.
