MacPlay today announced that it will distribute Another War, the second game in the company’s distribution agreement with British publisher Virtual Programming. The game will ship on May 1 for US$29.99. “Set during World War II, Another War tells the story of an adventurer who tries to rescue his friend from Germans in Nazi-occupied France and becomes trapped in a web of intrigue.

MacPlay today announced a partnership to handle US distribution of Macintosh games from British publisher Virtual Programming. The two companies will launch the agreement with the release of the real-time strategy game Europa Universalis II (US$29.99) later this month.

MacPlay is currently offering three New Year’s specials on its Web site. A limited-time bundle of Freedom Force, No One Lives Forever, and Black & White is available for US$99.99. A bundle of Bejeweled & Alchemy, realMYST, and Jinni Zeala Pinball can be purchased for $49.99. MacPlay is also offering customers a free game when they purchase any two MacPlay Value Series titles. MacPlay will pick from the following games: Sin, Majesty, Earth 2140, Feeble Files, Knights & Merchants, Sacrifice and Birdie Shoot.

MacPlay is offering several holiday specials through the month of December. A limited-time bundle of Aliens vs. Predator, Fallout, Jinni Zeala Pinball, Incoming, HeXen II and Feeble is available for US$60. This bundle can be ordered for three days only. MacPlay is also offering a three-day bundle of Bejeweled & Alchemy, realMYST and Jinni Zeala Pinball for $49.99. The company is offering a promotion that gives a free holiday stocking and a free game with the purchase any two MacPlay Value Series titles.

MacPlay today announced that The Operative: No One Lives Forever is now shipping. The popular first-person action-adventure game offers “the distinct style and locales of the fabulous 60’s in a captivating story of espionage,” and will ship as a “Game of the Year Edition” with 4 new levels, Multiplay capability, and a free CD containing 1960s-inspired lounge music. The Operative: No One Lives Forever is available for Mac OS X, priced at US$49.99.

MacPlay today released demos of its two popular puzzle games, Alchemy and Bejeweled. The games are available for Mac OS 8.6 or higher and Mac OS X.
