Several MacMinute readers note that on this day three years ago Mac OS X 10.0 was released. It’s baaack: Mac OS X 10.2.8 re-released

Apple on Friday re-released Mac OS X 10.2.8 after pulling the update last week due to ethernet problems. “The 10.2.8 Update (Build 6R73) includes an updated ethernet driver for 450MHz and 500MHz dual processor Power Mac G4 desktop systems and an update to the battery status menu,” according to the release notes. Version 10.2.8 is available via the Software Update preference pane.

Apple has posted a standalone 39MB download of Mac OS X 10.2.8, which was released yesterday via the Software Update preference pane. As previously reported, the update delivers enhanced functionality and improved reliability for: Audio, Bluetooth, Classic compatibility, Finder, Graphics, LDAP, Power Management, Safari, and FireWire and USB device compatibility. The update also provides updated security services and includes the latest security updates.

Apple has released Mac OS X 10.2.2, which delivers “enhanced functionality and improved reliability for the following applications and technologies: Address Book, iChat, IP Firewall, Mail, Print Center, Rendezvous, Sherlock and Windows file service discovery. The update also includes the updated services previously delivered in Security Update 2002-09-20.” The update is available via the Software Update utility.
