MacHeist launches final mission tonight

MacHeist is launching Mission 6 tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET. Visitors who complete this final heist will receive over US$50 worth of Mac software “loot.” In addition, three randomly selected people will win “Delicious Generation” T-shirts. MacHeist is a Mac software event involving “heists” for its visitors with free Mac applications as rewards for solving them. MacHeist raises $50,000 for charity; $100,000 in sight

In just over three days, MacHeist has raised US$50,000 for eight high-profile international charities. Touting this week as “The Week of the Independent Mac Developer,” MacHeist began selling a software bundle of some of the hottest apps for Mac OS X on Monday in the hopes of increasing the profile of the Mac shareware development community as well as raising $100,000 for charity before the holiday season. Now, only halfway through the week, MacHeist is on pace to meet its fundraising goal.

MacHeist now open to public with ‘Prize-Laden Mission’

MacHeist today announced that it is now open to the public. MacHeist is a Mac software event involving weekly “heists” for its visitors with free Mac applications as rewards. The site will also be hosting a final week of sales of a software bundle containing some of the hottest apps for Mac OS X, with 25% of proceeds given to customer selected charities. This week, visitors will be undergoing a heist centering around an infamous unsolved puzzle.
