SmileOnMyMac has released an image package of LightScribe design backgrounds that can be downloaded and installed for use with DiscLabel, the CD/DVD label design software for the Mac. The designs are provided by LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling and are available at no cost. Over 50 designs are available in a variety of LightScribe layout formats and a wide range of themes that are decorative and whimsical.

LightScribe, LaCie partner for direct disc labeling for Mac

LightScribe and LaCie today announced they are partnering to offer direct disc labeling drive for the Mac, allowing users to burn the data side of a disc, then flip the disc over and burn a precise, iridescent label with their desired text and graphics using the same laser that burns the data. No printer, permanent marker or adhesive labeling is required to develop and burn creative designs onto the CD or DVD. LaCie d2 DVD±RW Double Layer drives with LightScribe will be available in early 2005.
