No indie music for Euro iTunes Store

Macworld UK is reporting that Apple’s European iTunes Store, which is expected to launch today, will do so without independent music labels. “The UK launch of iTunes Music Store promises to be somewhat muted as the company has failed to license repertoire from the critically and commercially acclaimed European independent record sector to its new service,” states The Association of Independent Music (AIM) in the story.

iTunes set to launch in Europe June 15th

Apple will announce the launch of its much anticipated iTunes music service for Europe next week, reports Reuters. “An Apple spokesman in Holland declined to comment on the specifics of the launch,” notes the report. “However, Apple issued a statement on Monday that it would host a press conference in London on June 15.
