Iomega today began shipping three triple-interface models of the newly redesigned Iomega External Hard Drive. All three models, which are the fastest external hard drives Iomega has delivered to date, come with backup and disaster recovery software and offer USB 2.0, FireWire 400, and FireWire 800 connectivity. Iomega introduces new desktop hard drive line

Iomega today introduced a redesign of its lineup of Iomega-branded external hard drives. New features of the 7200 RPM drives include a stackable design, a drive stand for space-saving vertical placement that can be stowed in the drive case when not in use, and a high-gloss black finish. In addition, a Kensington security slot is built in and an on/off switch adds the option of powering down the drive manually.

Iomega today launched the Iomega Data Recovery Services, a new service that offers businesses and consumers “a comprehensive solution for recovering lost data due to hardware failure, file corruption or media damage.” The service offers free evaluations and estimates, priority and critical-response service levels, in-lab or optional on-site service for critical jobs, and online progress tracking.

Iomega introduces Mini USB Drive

Iomega today introduced the Mini USB Drive, a “sleek, key-sized device” available in 64MB and 128MB capacities. The drive is Mac and PC compatible, and will be available later this month, priced at US$69.95 for the 64MB Mini USB Drive and $99.95 for the 128MB version. IomegaWare 4.0.2 released

Iomega has released IomegaWare 4.0.2 for use with its popular portable storage devices, as noted by MacUpdate. Version 4.0.2 adds Zip 750MB Drive support, a Mac OS X native tools application, an automatic updating feature, and access to help files through a contextual menu. The software is available for Mac OS 8.6 or higher and Mac OS X.
