Apple expands iBook logic board repair program

Apple updated its iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program to include iBook models manufactured between May 2001 and October 2003. The program, which was launched in January, covers repair or replacement of the logic board in iBook models that are experiencing specific component failures. Study: iBook program gets mixed responses

A program intended to save teachers in Sewickley, Penn., time by giving students Apple laptops has gotten mixed results, according to an Associated Press story. Two years ago the Pennsylvania Department of Education chose the Quaker Valley School District for a pilot program that provided 1,800 iBooks to third through 12th graders. Teachers have found the laptops useful in tracking student progress, creating science models, and writing and grading papers.
