Eggplant 2.0 to be released in November

Redstone Software today announced Eggplant 2.0, a new version of the Mac OS X tool for automated, cross-platform testing. This release provides several enhancements, including a full-featured script debugger; autocompletion of commands, functions, variables, and other keywords; and one-click lookup of script resources. In addition, Rendezvous support allows Eggplant to automatically discover available test machines that are running either the OSXvnc 1.4 server or Apple Remote Desktop 2.0 clients. Eggplant 2.0 will be available early next month.

Panther support grows in Eggplant

Redstone Software has updated Eggplant to version 1.4.2, which adds support for Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. Eggplant is a sytem automation tool that combines the ability to remotely control any computer on a network with intuitive scripting; a free demo is available at the Redstone Web site. Additionally, the company has launched an initiative to develop partnerships with all levels of educational institutions with an Education Partner Program.

Redstone Software releases test automation tool for Mac OS X

Redstone Software today announced the immediate availability of Eggplant, the first test automation product for Mac OS X. The software provides functionality testing for GUI-based applications from the end user perspective. Eggplant runs on Mac OS X and utilizes a TCP/IP connection so that development and testing operations can also occur in Mac OS 9, Windows, Unix, Linux and other environments.
