Macromedia today announced that Contribute, the company’s Web publishing solution, now has 150,000 customers, making it the fastest growing new product in the company’s history. Macromedia also notes that effective April 1, 2004, the US$99 introductory commercial pricing for Macromedia Contribute will end. Apple has launched a .Mac & Contribute promotion that offers a one-year .Mac subscription and a full version of Macromedia Contribute 2.0 for US$149 ($249 retail value). The bundle must be purchased between October 22, 2003 and January 31, 2004 from the online Apple Store or from the Apple Store by phone. Macromedia on Wednesday plans to announce a Mac OS X version of Contribute, its light-duty Web publishing application, according to CNET News.com. Macromedia calls Contribute the “easiest way for anyone to update, add, and publish Web content in minutes with no HTML training or experience required.”
