CMS Products today announced it is shipping what it says is “the next generation of the ABSplus ultra portable backup and restore product line.” The ABSplus features a two-and-a-half inch removable hard drive with 100GB of storage capacity and a three-year warranty for a list price of US$419.

CMS Products today announced it has reduced pricing on its award-winning portable ABSplus, the company’s backup and restore solution. With a choice of USB or FireWire, the portable ABSplus is now more affordable than ever. The portable ABSplus pricing has now been reduced, as follows: 20GB (US$229), 40GB ($259), 60GB ($319), and 80GB ($399).

CMS Products today announced the availability of a new software update that makes the ABSplus complete backup and restore solution compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. The new software update applies to either the portable ABSplus or the ABSplus for desktops. This update is free for all registered users.

CMS Peripherals today unveiled the new features of its ABSplus, Automatic Backup System, now with integrated scheduling and One Button Restore. CMS also outlined its roadmap for bringing IEEE 1394b compatibility to the ABSplus in 2003. The pocket-sized ABSplus is available with a USB or FireWire interface, and comes in capacities of 20GB, 30GB, 40GB and 60GB at a starting price of US$299. The ABSplus for Desktops is available in capacities of 40GB, 80GB, 120GB and 160GB at a starting price of $299.
