NEC delivers fanless PC
Borrowing cues from Apple’s G4 Cube, NEC this week began taking orders for a fanless PC, according to c|net. Targeted exclusively at the Japanese market, the NEC Mate features a 900MHz Transmeta processor, 128MB RAM, 20GB hard drive, CD-ROM drive, 15-inch LCD display, and external power supply, and sells for about US$2,000—expensive for the performance, but Mac users will recall a similar premium for the G4 Cube.
