Forget the Apple Pencil Pro, the Apple Pencil 2 is down to $79 right now
Macworld Apple has released yet another Apple Pencil during its Let Loose event, but it’s only compatible with the new iPad Pros and Airs. So if you have an older iPad, you’ll need one of the older Pencils. And today, you can one for cheaper than ever: Amazon is selling the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil for $79, a savings of $50 and the lowest price we’ve ever seen. The 2nd-gen Apple Pencil magnetically attaches to the side of an older iPad Air or Pro to charge and can be used for navigation, writing, and drawing with little-to-no lag, pixel-perfect precision, and tilt and pressure sensitivity. Here are the iPad models the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil is compatible with:  iPad Pro 12.9-inch(3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generation) iPad Pro 11-inch(1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation) iPad Air(4th and 5th generation) iPad mini(6th generation) Apple says the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil “delivers pixel-perfect precision and industry-leading low latency and is as easy and natural to use as a pencil.” Like the new Apple Pencil Pro, it has tilt and pressure sensitivity so you can write and draw naturally with a full range of strokes, shading, and artistic effects. If you have an M2 iPad Pro, you can use the Apple Pencil hover feature to preview marks before you make them and use a double-tap function to quickly switch between brushes and tools. The Apple Pencil is an indispensable tool for iPad users. And at this price is a great bargain too. iPad

Maryland Apple Store employees to vote on strike, citing unmet demands
Workers at the first unionized Apple retail store in the US are preparing for a strike sanction vote to address unresolved issues with management.Despite over a year of negotiations, critical issues such as work-life balance, erratic scheduling, and wages remain unresolved. The workforce at the Towson, Maryland store, which unionized in June 2022, is increasingly disheartened by what they perceive as Apple's insufficient responses to their concerns.Earlier in 2024, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Coalition of Organized Retail Employees (CORE) conducted an independent survey. It countered Apple's "Workers Rights Assessment," which was initially undertaken to quell shareholder and employee unrest. Continue Reading on AppleInsider | Discuss on our Forums

Buying an M4 iPad Pro? You should know about these two unadvertised tiers of RAM, CPU, and more
Yesterday Apple unveiled the next generation of the iPad Pro, a major update including an M4 chip, OLED-powered Ultra Retina XDR display, ultra-thin industrial design, and more. In the last couple generations of iPad Pro, there was a key difference between the 11-inch and 13-inch models that many shoppers didn’t know about. The larger model came with significantly better display technology than its smaller sibling. That’s changed with the M4 iPad Pro, with Apple giving both models with the same top-tier Ultra Retina XDR. However, while it was not announced in the keynote, Apple is nonetheless shipping two very different tiers of M4 iPad Pro. This time around, the differences aren’t tied to the display.
