Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Luis began using Macs in 1983 with the release of the Apple IIe. His first computing experiences were in Logo. Although the release of Windows 95 brought a 4-year “dark era” to Luis’ computing history, it also introduced him to MIDI, and computer music sequencing with software like Cakewalk. Turning full-time musician, Luis later recorded albums and toured with Colombian acts such as Poligamia and Shakira. Luis moved to Vancouver in ’97 to pursue an Audio Engineering career, and later began his IT career by becoming an Apple Certified Trainer in Apple’s Logic Pro audio production software. Wildly interested in other Apple technologies, Luis founded his own consultancy in 2006, Monkey Mac, which was awarded with the 2011 Consumers’ Choice Award, and subsequently joined forces with Fully Managed. In late 2012 Luis went back out on his own, starting “Ook Enterprises”, his current consultancy focussing on Apple-centric managed services. Since Mac OS X version 10.4, Luis has continued to maintain the highest level of Apple technical certification, ACTC and ACSA |
