Valentina for Java Developer’s Preview Released

JAVA SDK PREVIEW ALLOWS CREATION OF POWERFUL, MULTI-PLATFORM DATABASE
APPLICATIONS

December 6, 2000. Beaverton, Oregon. Paradigma Software announced the
availability of its first software developer’s solution for Java
development.

Valentina for Java (VJSDK) beta 1 is the first of Paradigma Software’s line
of database tools for development of client side pure Java applications.
VJSDK employs the same base Valentina API, allowing developers who are
already familiar with other Valentina products, such as Valentina for
REALbasic, to get a jump-start to integrating Valentina into their Java
applications, including support of BaseObject methods, BLOBs and the
Valentina implementation of SQL.

“VJSDK is our base level implementation for Java, with all the
sophistication professional developers will expect who are coming from a
C++ background. But users who are looking for only a JDBC driver for
Valentina won’t have long to wait,” said Jochen Peters, who leads
development of Valentina for Java.

Valentina for Java is based on the Valentina database kernel, an ultra-fast
database solution for software developers. Valentina solutions are
available for REAL Software’s REALbasic, Macromedia Director, Metrowerks
CodeWarrior, Microsoft C++, Purity Software’s WebSiphon, and as an XCMD for
HyperCard, SuperCard, MetaCard and MacPerl.

“Java development on the Macintosh, especially for server applications,
will become much more interesting with the speed and stability afforded by
MacOS X. As with all Valentina products, we want VJSDK to give Java
developers the fastest database solution that will run on the Mac,” said
Ruslan Zasukhin, founder of Paradigma Software.

VJSDK beta 1 can be downloaded from the Paradigma Software website. Final
pricing has not been released, however it will be similar to the pricing
schedule for other Valentina SDKs. Additional information is available on
the Paradigma Software website, or through its authorized international
distribution partners.
